Veganism is an upward
phenomenon, it goes far beyond diet. It is "a philosophy" and a
"way of life" that excludes "all forms of exploitation and
cruelty towards the use of animals." And every time it is more, also with
regard to the costumes and, specifically, footwear; one of the industries with
the greatest impact on wildlife and the environment.
What is vegan footwear.
In the line of the philosophy
described, vegan shoes are those that are manufactured without using any
material derived from animals.
It is important to keep in
mind that a shoe will be vegan not only when the main material in which it is
manufactured comes from other sources, but when it is totally free of
components that can also come from animals. Eye at this point because the glue
of the shoes can be made, for example, with the bones of the animals. In cases
like this, the footwear will not be vegan no matter how much it is made of
synthetic leather or other related materials.
We have been making artisan footwear for more than 100 years in a workshop in La puebla de Montalban, Toledo, and for 18 years we have specialized in ecological and vegan footwear.
We are a very small company, two brothers, Cristina and Jesús, who we learned from our father, who in turn learned from our grandfather and so on. We really don't know at what point in the family genealogy footwear began to be manufactured.
Our Bioworld vegan footwear is made with the following materials and methods:
- We replaced animal skin, free cruelty, with textile-based microfibers, we use microfibers from the Italian brands Lorica, Giardini, Sisa, etc. Microfiber is a high-density textile with the same guarantees of durability as leather.
- The dyes used in these microfibers are natural dyes of plant origin.
- Insoles made of natural cork oak, natural rubber, jute and a superior microfiber covering.
- Natural rubber sole, from the Hevea tree, vulcanized in a compression mold with chemical accelerator, the minimum necessary for a longer duration and light sole.
- Glues made from water, without solvents.
Our family business is over 100 years old During this time we have manufactured various types of footwear. For 20 years we have been making organic and vegan Bioworld footwear. For 7 years only vegan footwear.
We do not use chain work as a manufacturing method, but traditional and artisan elaboration, according to the knowledge acquired by four generations of shoemakers. The owner, Jesús García Cordero, has the artisan card number 4500772, issued by the Ministry of Industry and Labor of Castilla La Mancha, the official body in charge of protecting quality artisan work.

Why buy vegan shoes.
Fundamentally to ensure
that in the production of the footwear you are going to use, animals have been
100% respected. Thus, the absence of animal cruelty is guaranteed.
However, the potential
benefits of betting on this footwear go beyond, since Bioworld has launched to
produce this type of shoes they have also sought to offer ecological footwear
that has a much lower impact on the environment.
